Hi, I'm LaFrieda Smith, Founder of Life Skills Family Network and a Business and Entrepreneurship Coach dedicated to helping people develop the skills, confidence, and strategies they need to move forward.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and bring more than 15 years of combined experience in business, entrepreneurship, mentoring, and life skills development.
My work is centered around one simple belief: everyone has the ability to learn, grow, and achieve their goals when they have the right tools, support, and guidance.
I work with individuals, families, students, entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community organizations. Through personalized coaching and consulting, I help clients strengthen practical life skills, improve organization and executive functioning, develop self-advocacy and communication skills, start and grow businesses, and create actionable plans for success.
As an advocate for community development, disability advocacy, ongoing education, and empowerment, I'm passionate about creating opportunities that help people become more confident, independent, and successful.
Through Life Skills Family Network, I combine my experience in business, coaching, education, and community development to provide practical solutions that can be applied to real life and real business.

Life Skills Family Network began with one simple question:
“What if everyone had access to the practical skills needed to confidently navigate everyday life?”
Too often, individuals leave school without learning how to manage money, communicate effectively, prepare for employment, advocate for themselves, or live independently. Such people are left searching for resources and support that simply aren’t available in one place.
Recognizing this gap, LaFrieda Smith founded Life Skills Family Network to provide practical, hands-on education that prepares people for real-life success. What started as a vision to serve individuals with disabilities has grown into a broader mission of supporting teens, adults, families, nonprofits, schools, and communities through coaching, workshops, consulting, and collaborative partnerships.
Today, Life Skills Family Network continues to expand its reach by helping people develop the confidence, knowledge, and independence needed to thrive in every stage of life

We're based in Polk County, Florida, and offer both in-person and virtual sessions. Wherever you are in the world, you can leverage our coaching services virtually.
How do I get started?
Simply book a discovery call (it’s totally free). It's a no-pressure conversation where we talk through what you're currently going through and your goals so we can figure out which program works best for you.
Do you work with clients outside of Florida?
Yes, our virtual sessions make it possible to work with clients anywhere in the world.
What does a coaching session look like?
Each session runs for 60 minutes and is personalized around your goals. Coaching is collaborative and hands-on to ensure you stay engaged. We don’t bore you with genetic theories. We teach what works for your specific circumstances.
How often will I meet with a coach?
It depends on the program. Check out our membership page to see what applies to you.
Can I switch or combine programs?
Yes. During your discovery call, or at any point in your membership, we can adjust your focus areas to match where you are.
Can parents or caregivers be involved in coaching sessions?
Yes. We offer Parent & Caregiver Coaching. For clients transitioning to independence, we welcome caregiver involvement where it supports the individual's goals.
Do I need to pay in full upfront?
No, you don't have to pay in full at once. Only a 25% deposit is required, and you can pay the remaining balance according to an agreed schedule.
Is the discovery call really free?
Yes, the 30-minute discovery call is totally free.
